Best Fast Motorcycle - MV Agusta F4 Veltro Strada

The F4 was created by famous motorcycle designer Massimo Tamburini at CRC (Cagiva Research Center), following his work on the Ducati 916. The F4 is unique with its four pipe undertail exhaust, single-sided swingarm, large front forks (49 or 50 mm diameter) and traditional MV Agusta red and silver livery. The F4 is also one of the few production superbikes to have hemispherical chamber 4 valves per cylinder engine.

The F4 Veltro comes in two models, the F4 Veltro Strada (road) and F4 Veltro Pista (race). Ninety-nine examples of the Strada were produced, as well as 23 examples of the Pista. As is standard for a race modified motorcycle, the Pista is not equipped with headlights. The Veltro models engines feature the TSS system originally found on the F4 Tamburini. These are considered by many to be the most race-oriented F4's available.

The Veltro Strada is equipped with a full complement of carbon fiber (fairings, tail, airbox, mud guards, fenders, air ducts, heat shield) and magnesium frame plates.

In addition to the parts found on the Veltro Strada, the Veltro Pista is equipped with a lightened frame, oversized radiator, carbon fiber fuel tank, and a magnesium triple clamp and swingarm.

Best Fast Motorcycle - Aprilia RSV4

The Aprilia RSV4 is a super bike manufactured by Aprilia. The RSV4 is Aprilia’s flagship model. Aprilia offers two models of the bike: the RSV4 Factory and RSV4 R.

Production of the motorcycle began in 2008. The motorcycle was unveiled on February 22, 2008, at the International Piaggio Group Convention in Milan, Italy. It is powered by a 65-degree 999.6 cc (61 cu in) V-4 engine, the company's first production four-cylinder engine. Aprilia claims that the new engine was designed specifically for superbike racing and that the engine will put over 200 horsepower (150 kW) in race configuration.

Aprilia launched the bike to race in the 2009 Superbike World Championship season.

In 2009, its first full season of World Superbike racing, Max Biaggi aboard the RSV4 reached the podium 9 times, and won one race at the Brno Circuit. Aprilia factory teammate Shinya Nakano ended the season in 14th place.

Biaggi won the championship in 2010, and contracted to race the bike for another two seasons, citing his positive experience with the team and development of the bike into a successful racer and, despite his age, wanting to continue with the momentum they had built up.

The Aprilia RSV4 is available as a customer specified race bike from the factory as a Max Biaggi replica.

Best Fast Motorcycle - Honda CBR1000F

Launched in 1987 the Honda CBR1000F, also known as the Hurricane, is a sport touring motorcycle manufactured by Honda from 1987 to 1999. It is powered by a liquid-cooled, DOHC, 998 cc, 16-valve four-cylinder, it crossed the 130 bhp (97 kW) barrier and is capable of 260 km/h (160 mph).

Manufactured from 1987 to late 1999 the Hurricane went through only three major revisions. In 1989, the bike received a cosmetic makeover with a complete redesign of the front fairing, improvements to the bikes front suspension, larger tyres were added to help cope with the bikes heavy weight and to accommodate radial tyres, improvements were also added to the bikes cam chain tensioner in an attempt to remove the annoying cam chain rattle some riders had reported, the 1989 model also had its power slightly increased to around 135 bhp (101 kW) and the model gained weight. In 1992, the bike's looks were overhauled with a more streamlined and modern looking bodywork added. The biggest change was the introduction of DCBS, Honda's Dual Combined Brake System. The DCBS system was introduced to assist rider braking where the front brake lever operates the front calipers but also proportionally applies the rear brake, while using the rear brake will engage one front caliper. Since then DCBS has evolved into a very popular addition to many Honda touring motorcycles. No major changes occurred after 1992. A touring model was briefly launched that offered a larger screen and hard panniers.

Best Fast Motorcycle - Honda DN-01 (cruiser motorcycle made by Honda)

The Honda DN-01 is a cruiser motorcycle made by Honda. It was introduced at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and went on sale in Japan and Europe in 2008, and in the US in 2009. The Honda DN-01 is one of a small number of motorcycles offered by a major motorcycle manufacturer with an automatic transmission (compare Honda VFR1200F and Aprilia MANA 850). Honda continues to offer the 2009 model as its only model for the US market as of early 2011.

The 2009 model DN-01's performance, measured by Motorcycle Consumer News, was 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in 7.41 seconds, a 1/4 mile time of 15.41 seconds at 87.42 mph (140.69 km/h), and a top speed of 113.1 mph (182.0 km/h). Braking performance, which uses an antilock braking system on the front dual disc brakes, was 60 to 0 mph (97 to 0 km/h) in 124 ft (38 m). The feature that most impressed the reviewer was the unique automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) technology, called by Honda the "Human Friendly Transmission," which, though expensive, was revolutionary, and potentially, "the ideal drivetrain for most of us, with the potential to satisfy a wide variety of riders regardless of experience or riding preference."

Reviewer complaints focused on ergonomics, especially potentially uncomfortable seating on long rides, and the lack of wind protection at high speed, meaning the rider is fatigued pulling on the handlebars to resist the wind pushing them backwards. There is also no storage space at all, and the price of US$ 14,599 is much higher than any comparably performing machine. Since the initial reviews, the price has risen to US$ 15,599. The load capacity is only 324 lb (147 kg), meaning that with a passenger the DN-01 is likely to become overloaded if touring were attempted. Ultimate MotorCycling, like other reviewers, was fascinated with the transmission technology but found the combination of styles and features unsatisfactory from the point of view of either a cruiser rider or sportbike rider, while the lack of storage fails to meet the needs of either touring riders or the urban commuter scooter buyer.

THe DN-01 has a catalyser system compliant with EURO-3, California Air Resources Board (CARB) and EPA emissions standards.
